There aren't many things more frustrating than an air conditioning that refuses to run. A hot, muggy home can make your space incredibly uncomfortable, which is why I have always focused on maintaining my air conditioning system. Unfortunately, I still run into problems from time to time and I am sure that all of you do, which is one of the reasons I decided to build this website. Check out these posts for more information about keeping your system working beautifully, even if you aren't naturally good at fixing things. You never know, making the right changes could dramatically improve your summertime experience.

It can be tough to decide whether to have an air conditioning system installed in your home. Here are a few considerations to make that should help make the decision easier:
How Hot Does It Really Get?
Before deciding whether to invest in a new air conditioning system for your home, it's a good idea to complete a test and figure out how hot it really gets inside you home throughout the day at the high point of the summer months. Spend an entire day in your home without any accessories, electronic equipment (like fans), and other luxuries to find out just how much you suffer.
If you can get through the day with just a little discomfort, chances are that a few fans will keep your place cool enough to function and relax day or night. However, if you find yourself hunting for ice cubes and cool towels throughout the day, chances are that an air conditioner will help you stay more comfortable while you're spending time indoors while it's hot outside.
But if you decide that you want to install an air conditioning system, you should also have all of your windows and doors sealed to ensure energy efficiency. You can use spray foam insulation or caulking to seal the windows and doors yourself or have your service provider do it for you.
How Much Are You Spending on Extras?
It's also a good idea to consider how much you are spending on extras now to stay comfortable inside your home when the weather is especially hot. How many fans do you run throughout your house on a daily basis during the summer months to keep things comfortable indoors? Do you find yourself buying ice on a regular basis just to keep your up with your household needs?
Do you invest in ice packs and other items to stay cool when it's hot outside, even if you're just trying to hang out on the couch and watch a movie? Are you spending more money than you'd like on things like ice cream and hydrating drinks to stay comfortable indoors? If so, you should probably consider investing in a new air conditioning system.
How Long Will You Be Living in Your Home?
Another thing to think about when deciding whether or not to invest in a new air conditioning system is the length of time you plan to spend in your current home. If you won't be going anywhere in your lifetime, the decision should rest solely on your comfort levels, personal preferences, and budget. If you plan to sell your home at any point in the future, an air conditioning system may increase the monetary value or your home.
